Gastric Banding:
In this procedure, a band made of special material is placed around the stomach near its upper end, creating a small pouch and a narrow passage into the larger remainder of the stomach.
Exercise is an important part of a successful gastric banding surgery. It is important to avoid abdominal exercises within 4-6 weeks of this surgery, so we recommend you stay off the machine altogether for this period.
Dr. Mark Gibbs says exercise is just as important with gastric banding as with any other weight loss program. He says people with lap-bands can expect to lose 2 to 3 pounds a week, especially if they exercise. "Patients can lose more than that or they can lose less. Exercise is important, the more you exercise the more you'll lose."
WBV (Whole Body Vibration) can be an excellent rehab tool for people with gastric banding, as it is a low impact workout that has helped thousands of people with many health issues. Consult your health care provider before attempting any type of exercise after having surgery.
It's important to know that there are two types of Vibration technologies available; Linear and Oscillating. They are both Vibration machines but the difference is how the vibration is 'delivered' to the body. T-Zone Health uses Oscillating Technology which is the technology that is most popular with Chiropractors, Physiotherapists and rehab institutions. It is not recommended that Linear Vibration be used with people that have had major surgeries, other health issues, or older and younger users. If your Health Care Provider would like more information on WBV, please have them contact T-Zone Health.
We always suggest trying the machine for a few free trial sessions at our Vibration
**Note – this research is available in the public domain. Various models and machines on the market have been used for the purpose of conducting research. We believe that T-Zone Technology Vibration falls within the main stream of general research performed using WBV but make no specific guarantees.
